Thoughts on Retirement
Although early retirement is something most of use look forward to, the day when you don’t have to worry about working to pay the bills, the reality of the situation is many people today, are working AFTER they are officially retired. Although I think is it a good idea to be productive throughout our lives, I wouldn’t want to work because I have to. I prefer to be used up rather than rusted up.
I’ve given up on the idea of early retirement. Why? I don’t think I’ll retire as in sit down do nothing kind of life. That’s way too boring for me. Besides travel, grand children and pottering in the garden, my idea of retirement now is that all the necessary loans are settled and I’ll have income flowing in from investments. Both from businesses and off course, investment.
Anyway, there are many barriers to investment that I believe you should be aware of. Else they catch you off guard and find yourself not enjoying the golden years. Enjoy.
