As I took time to plan for 2006, I tried to recall what I did in 2005. Not only to reflect back and to jot down the milestones but more importantly, the lessons that I learned. Some one once quoted, a life worth living is worth recording and I believe it to be so.
Man is a funny creature. We are good at remembering the bad things, but lousy at remembering the good stuff. Writing your life down helps us to remember the good things more. Want to make more money? Then train you mind to focus on the good.
Just imagine, leaving something for your children or even your grandchildren some day. It could also be material for a book or your autobiography! Think of the potential.
I’ll be doing mine this way. Jot down my travels, family occasion, victories and challenges, how I over came them etc and then also the date. I you maintained a journal, it is even better. You can just write the important learning experience at the side or clip extra paper in you journal. If you write on your computer, well you can do all sorts of ways.
I’ve jot notes in a journal but not consistently. Over the years, I’ve realized that some time, when things don’t go the way it is planned, I tend to get frustrated and chuck things aside. You’ve heard it before, never quit till it something happens. I find reviewing journal entries help me to remember my wins. It can help you too.
I’ll be reviewing my 2005 plans versus the implementation to see what changes and why they were done, so hopefully, I’d reduce my mistakes and improve my planning and execution.
