Knowing Your Customers

Some time last year, I came across this piece of information from clickz, that the fastest growing segment online are those who are retired! I can’t remember exactly what age group, but I think it is those 60 and above. Clickz compiles stats for demographics, online activity and many other interesting data to help marketers.

I found this information interesting because, if you have a business that targets this age group, then you might consider having an online presence as well. Leave this out, and you could be missing out a huge slice of the market. I think many people in the past, dismissed the older generation from making significant online purchases or even doing product research on the internet. The data shows this is changing.
