Increasing Your Productivity 2

productivityIn my earlier post on increasing productivity, I gave 3 ideas how to increase your productivity and thus your income. I hope that helps. In the past few days, jsut to practise typing faster, I’ve forced myself to type and don’t stop, ignoring spelling mistakes and other grammar and just kept going. Usually, what I did is to type and edit at the same time slowing me down considerably. What I did, is to finish what’s on my mind and reread the things I’ve type once I’ve finished. I found that this keeps me more focus and able to create a much longer article without censoring myself.

Today, I suddenly remembered some other stuff I do, to save time and increase productivity. My wife asked if certain bills are paid since it didn’t look like to her that I’m paying the bills. I told her that most of the bills are automated.

All the utility bills like electricity, phone, hand phone and internet access are paid with direct deduction through the credit card. I hope that you are also using such services. Just make sure you look through bills everymonth. I usually audit the bill the moment I open the statement to ensure no sudden increase or items that should not be there, like double billing. I found out I was billed twice for my car insurance on my credit card this month. The credit card statement comes at the end of the month and with a few clicks, it is paid from my bank account through the internet.

It is so much time saved not to mention savings on parking, fuel cost and waiting in line. The only 2 bills that I can’t pay through credit card is the water bill and the home loan which is from a foreign bank. The water bill is still okay because I can pay online

Now this loan is pretty much the only hassle that I have to drive and drop in a check. Money transfer from another bank cost too much. Even if I had a savings account, the bank don’t allow us to set an direct deduction. From past experience, mailing a check to them is, iffy, since the last thing I want is to get penalized for check that go missing in the mail.

So what about you? Do you use all these conveniences to save time and increase your productivity? I hope so.
