I surfed over to Yahoo Finance today and came across this article by Robert Kiyosaki, about whether to diversify your investments or not. Well, most everyone knows Robert. If you have not read of him somewhere and you are concern about money, then I think you should at least check out his material.
While I think there is good stuff in his books, there are things I don’t agree with. I recommend that you read and think for yourself. You don’t need me or any other expert to tell you the power of focusing your efforts, be it in investments, business or even in life. But I wrote a similar post last week about concentrating your efforts.
Imaging you are using a magnifying glass to light a fire and burn wood. If you move the focus point all over the place, you are not going to burn anything. But, if you hold the point long enough till one part burns, then move on to another part of the wood, pretty soon the whole piece will be on fire.
The same applies to making money and also developing a business. Even in sports, top stars like Tiger Woods, Micheal Schumacher, Lance Armstrong focus. They specialized in doing one thing well, THEN diversify into endorsement contracts, clothing, soft drinks etc. but only after they are the very best in their field.
Remember. Focus!
